About Stephan Pietzko
My home is on the shore of Lake Laberge north of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada. I am a Chemist by education and have received a Ph.D. in chemistry from University of Dortmund (Germany) in 1993.
I visited the Yukon first in 1991. Drawn by its magic and after more visits I was lucky to permanently move to this world-most haunting place in 2001. I freelance as technical translator and increasingly as photographer, turning a passion I have enjoyed for over 20 years step by step into my profession.
My primary focus is the northern wilderness, the unique Yukon light, the territory’s awe-inspiring landscapes, its untamed nature and abundant wildlife. While fascination for the Yukon is the main source of my inspiration, frequent travels take my photographic quest far beyond.
My photography is also available for licensing on www.ImagoBorealis.com
I hope you will enjoy my images and that they make your day just a little bit better.
